The M2 generation consumes huge amounts of television, Internet, movies, music and music videos. But for all their exposure to mass media, American youth spend little time analyzing media messages. This interactive workshop will discuss media consumption among young people and will discuss the importance of media literacy education. Participants will have the opportunity to role play lessons related to media literacy and will discuss ways to improve student’s media literacy. Handouts will be provided.
