Sport is a powerful tool that can provide youth with positive social interactions and promote personal and social development. Many governmental and nongovernmental organizations have recognized this possibility and developed programs to promote various contexts of socialization into sports careers. This symposium brings together research studies from various countries to examine sociological, psychological and policy issues across socio-participatory, recreational, education and elite sports environments.
