Is classroom courtesy on the decline or is texting just the 21st century equivalent of passing notes in class? This session will focus on common issues of incivility and provide specific strategies instructors can use to improve classroom climate, ultimately resulting in increased student learning. Attention will be devoted to the syllabus, initial contact and modeling civility throughout the semester. Courtesy in digital communication will also be addressed.
