Physical educators and other professionals will learn how canine assistance can help children with higher-functioning autism increase their physical activity levels and engagement. It will outline the factors that affect successful implementation of therapy dogs in an inclusive physical activity program as well as the process of designing a canine study. Implications for physical education will be discussed. The session will be supplemented with images, videos, and testimonials from parents, students, instructors, and dog handlers.
