The FITNESSGRAM® program is unique in the use of criterion-referenced standards (CRS) to evaluate levels of physical fitness. The development of standards in children necessitates linking fitness data to clinically relevant outcome measures. Members of the FITNESSGRAM Scientific Advisory Board have worked collaboratively with other experts in the field to develop new CRS for body fatness and cardiovascular fitness. The symposium will summarize the methods and research used to establish these new standards for FITNESSGRAM.
