Inspiring and sustaining a young woman’s motivation in sport can be a difficult task. However, a team’s culture can have a profound impact on an athlete’s motivation. This session assembles panelists, representing the fields of coaching and sports psychology, to discuss psychosocial variables found in a team’s culture that affect motivation. In an attempt to help both the practitioner and researcher, the panel will strive to practically bridge theory, research, and practice.
