Presenters will describe the importance of providing HPERD students with hands-on research experiences related to future professional employment. Students who are ideally suited for supervised research seek new challenges, pursue mastery learning, value diversity and desire to enhance research skills in the discipline. Mentors are rejuvenated through active engagement with students in applied settings outside of the classroom. Participants will learn how faculty and students can effectively collaborate to explore topics of interest and explain health and physical behavior.
