In 1979, the federal government issued A Policy Interpretation: Title IX and Intercollegiate Athletics. In the 30 years since this clarifying policy, institutions of higher education have complied with this law to varying degrees. This session will briefly examine the impact of this policy chronologically before focusing on an analysis of data required by the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act of 1994. An analysis of the levels of compliance will be provided.
