The proposed conference session is divided into two segments. During the first segment, a middle school health education class is simulated. Two volunteers are asked to teach a provided unit in health education to a group of participants, in roles as middle school students. Two of student roles may become disruptive. In the second segment all participants, in small groups, use available resources brainstorm proactive teaching behaviors that improve the likelihood of effective classroom management.
