Live Free-Tobacco Free Smoke Free Survey

While maintaining the dignity of smokers, the goal of this study was to establish smoking compliance and enforcement at Southern Illinois University –Carbondale in conjunction with the Illinois Smoke Free Act. The outcomes of the study indicated a need for clear paths/smoking sections, visible signage placement, enforcement of the smoking law by SIU police, and promotion of disciplinary action for non-compliance. In addition, building coping skills for non-smokers is recommended.
