Influence of Motor Skills on Fitness Scores and Perceived Competence
CEU OPPORTUNITY: Designed for practitioners and researchers, this symposium will present data collected during school from 4th graders. Motor skills were tested using the TGMD-2 and compared to scores on the FITNESSGRAM and Harter’s Self-Perception Profile for Children. Tertile analyses, comparing the top third performances to the bottom third, show that children with higher levels of motor skills score better on fitness and perceived competence measures than those with lower skill. Practical implications also will be discussed.
