Symposium: Physical Education Teacher Educators - A Contemporary Profile
This symposium offers an updated profile of Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) faculty in the United States. The aim of the investigation was to have every PETE complete an online survey designed to elicit information related to (a) personal characteristics, (b) education and experience, (c) actual and preferred work responsibilities, (d) professional involvement, and (e) perceptions concerning the current status of teacher education. In total, the names of 1,252 teacher educators from 655 institutions were added to the database. The results demonstrate the continuing diversity of roles assumed within the profession.
