Synergistic Opportunities and Concerns for Sport Management Programs
This program will overview internship opportunities and challenges and specifically address legal issues relative to interns. A portion of the program will deal with ways sport management internship coordinators can successully deal with issues such as harassment, theft, workers compensation, intern termination and more. The second portion of this program will deal with a specific internship partnership between East Tennessee State University and Bristol Motor Speedway. The motorsports operations have become a multi-billion dollar business and can provide great opportunities for interns. This portion of the program will describe the benefits for both ETSU and the speedway with specific emphasis on unique educational opportunities provided to students.
