Assessing Program Outcomes for PEP Grants
The success of the Carol White Physical Education Program was evident in the number of attendees at the 2002 AAHPERD Conference session held in San Diego. One common difficulty encountered by grant recipients involves clearly demonstrating the impact of the grant on students and the school district. The focus of this session centers on the assessment aspect of the grant—obtaining and documenting outcome measures that matter as well as ongoing measures that will sustain the program once the grant expires. This session will bring together successful recipients from past years that have resolved the issues described above. Current recipients of PEP Grants as well as potential grant writers will benefit from understanding how to carry out this critical phase of the grant process.
