NASPE/Motor Development Academy
Understanding the NASPE Motor Development Standards for Undergraduate Education
The purpose of this session is to introduce and explain the NASPE "Guidelines for Minimum Competencies in Undergraduate Motor Development", approved in 2004 at the New Orleans Convention. This session will be organized into three segments. The first involves a discussion of the particular standards and what they mean. The second involves mapping the competencies to specific content areas in motor development textbooks and resources. The third involves best practices for teaching in motor development so that students meet minimum competencies.
