Physical Activity Goal Setting Strategies for K-12 Using Physical Best/FITNESSGRAM
With increased emphasis upon battling obesity through physical activity and nutrition, teachers have a need to be proficient at teaching about individualized goal setting strategies. Building upon the guidelines in the new Teacher's Guide: Physical Education for Lifelong Fitness (NASPE, 2005), this session will present strategies and hands-on practice in developing age-appropriate activity goals for students in K-12 physical education classes. Hand-outs will summarize tips, and break-out activities will include guided practice with feedback. Appropriate for K-12 teachers, and Physical Best Specialists desiring more information and assistance in using goal setting with FITNESSGRAM, Physical Best Activities, and pedometers.
