Young lifters can be prepared to perform lifts safely and correctly by learning and performing a progression of body weight exercises that develop strength, stability, muscular focus and tension needed to perform Olympic lifts. The presentation will detail progressions for clean and jerk and the snatch as well as the assisted lifts. Coaching implications, fundamentally appropriate teaching progressions, modifications, and suggestions for implementation into a program design will also be discussed.
