Through utilization of evidence-based research and best practice, the Office of Student Health and Wellness (OSHW) has successfully and continuously advocated for increased PE and physical activity at both the district level (top-down) and school level (bottom-up). On January 22, 2014 Chicago Public Schools (CPS) passed a physical education policy requiring daily physical education for students in grades K-12. Representatives from CPS would like to share best practices and strategies for advocating and implementation of this effort.
