Deliberate practice is an important tenant of the SHAPE America National Standards (2014). We present mutual variables that orchestrate task sequences across sports— just add a ball. Skill related fitness components form these across sport connections. Small learning steps, easy to learn, easy set up, quick transitions, integrated differentiation, fun/exciting challenges characterize progressions. Manipulate skill drill variables to create upward/downward progressions and endless variation. Teach students to manipulate these variables. Enable them to create and, or modify their own drills.
