Cluster analysis is a multivariate statistical procedure that allows researchers to assemble groups based on responses to a number of variables. This exploratory technique can be used to better examine profiles of athletes based on their responses to multidimensional questionnaires. In this presentation, description of the analysis, statistical application with sport psychology variables, such as goal orientation, and implications for researchers, coaches and sport psychology consultants will be presented.
