150 Social Dances—That Even the Boys Will Like

Wednesday, March 18, 2015: 7:30 AM-8:45 AM
Convention Center: Ballroom 6B
Physical Education: K-12 Standards-Based Instruction in Physical Education (includes Dance in PE)
Intended Audience: Middle/High, K-12
Speakers: Julie Ann Lombardi, Millersville University, Millersville, PA; and Chip S. Schaeffer, Millersville University, Millersville, PA
The purpose of this hands-on session is to introduce participants to energetic social dances that do NOT require a set partner; yet still incorporate physical contact with others. This includes circle-change dances that are done with alternating partners or dances that are done in groups of 3-6. These dances are ideal for physical education teachers looking to introduce social dance to students who dread it due to the social implications of a set partner.
