Increased parental involvement with his/her teen driver is a critical component to improving teen driving behaviors. Parent/teen orientation programs have been shown to increase teen driver safety. This presentation will focus on the key components of the orientation program, including an understanding of the risks for novice drivers, an understanding of driver safety laws, and providing communication strategies and resources teens and parents can use to assist the beginner driver.
