Grounded in a previous speech (Templin, 2012), this presentation will provide insights into the speaker’s career in physical education, physical education teacher education, and research on teacher socialization. The paper will provide an autobiographical journey combined with an overview of research literature on teachers of physical education over three decades. Summary thoughts on the state of physical education, school reform, and research on teachers will be presented.
