Assistive Technology devices are frequently provided as a means to increase children with special needs’ ability to participate in physical education. Limitations of these devices include their high-cost and lack of accessibility. Two new devices were specifically designed to address these limitations: modified ride-on cars and a body-weight support harness system. Each is low-cost, readily available, portable, and with training, can be used independently by children to participate in sports and games. (CEU)
