Saturday, April 27, 2013: 10:15 AM-11:30 AM
Convention Center: 212AB
AAPAR/Council for Adventure and Outdoor Education/Recreation
Speakers: John G. Helion, West Chester University, West Chester, PA; and Matthew D. Cummiskey, West Chester University, West Chester, PA
Adventure educators claim that participants experience improved communication, trust, teamwork and other affective measures. However, these claims often go unsubstantiated. This is problematic because school administrators are looking for results! Through this workshop, participants will learn what specific tools exist to measure soft skills, how those tools can be practically implemented and how to use the data for program improvement and grant applications. Participants will get hands-on practice building and sharing site-specific assessments.
