When teachers develop and conduct research, it becomes more personally meaningful. The purpose of this session is to present the 5-year evolution of a physical education teacher education (PETE) program’s approach to facilitating teacher candidate mini-research in a middle school setting. Alignment with the NASPE initial teacher standards will be discussed, particularly with respect to professional growth and evaluation of teaching/learning. Participants will develop strategies for student-led inquiry within their own teacher education programs.
