This session presents results of a four-year process to collect districtwide student weight and fitness data in Lincoln, Nebraska, and how this data is being used to drive policy related to physical activity and physical education. Initially, data was collected to establish need for a successful PEP grant application. Now it is being used to change local health policy. Recently, we performed a cross-sectional study of the correlation of fitness and standardized academic test scores.
