This session will present a new curriculum model called Health Optimizing Physical Education (HOPE), which is based on a comprehensive school physical activity program. The session includes: the need for HOPE, theoretical foundation, teaching/learning strands, teacher knowledge, and a description of a pilot HOPE program in Georgia. The intended audiences are P-12 teachers, teacher educators, and students. Attendees will be introduced to HOPE and learn strategies for implementing HOPE in schools and PETE programs.
