Wednesday, April 24, 2013: 1:45 PM-3:00 PM
Convention Center: 209AB
AAPAR/Measurement & Evaluation Council
Presider: Ka Man Leung, Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Speaker: Anita N. Lee, Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic, CT
The purpose of this presentation is to introduce Exploratory Structural Equation Modeling (ESEM) and to compare the differences between the ESEM and the general structural equation modeling (SEM). ESEM is a modeling methodology that combines the advantages of exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis (Asparouhov & Muthén, 2009). The target audiences are researchers and graduate students interested in SEM and model testing. An example will be used to illustrate these two methods.
