Part#1 Fit to Learn (FTL), a 3-part, teacher professional development series focuses on reducing childhood obesity rates. This presentation shares the behavior model used to identify teacher characteristics and predict intentions. Results identify efficacy, environmental factors, social norms, and attitude as predictors. Part#2 reviews obesity prevention and treatment interventions targeting Appalachian and rural communities. Recommendations include enhancing interventions among potentially underserved populations, and continued programs for at-risk groups
