Hair Stylists and Barbers as Lay Health Educators |
Hair stylists and barbers are emerging as effective health educators for combating health concerns such as high blood presssure, cancer, domestic violence, and unintended pregnancies. Stylists have a unique opportunity to deliver health education messages due to the bond of trust with clients and the regularity with which they see clients. This session will discuss current salon-based projects and strategies for recruiting and training stylists, as well as evaluating salon projects. |
