Cultural competence encompasses academic, interpersonal, clinical, and pedagogical skills that empower individuals to raise their understanding of differences within, among, and between individuals of varied genders, races, nationalities, ethnicities, socio-economic strata, physical abilities, sexual orientations, and geographic locale.
The purpose of this workshop is to empower participants to embrace innovative pedagogies as venues to enhance pre-service physical educator’s socio-cultural competencies for teaching. Specifically, strategies to promote pre-service educators’ knowledge, skills, and dispositions.
