Focus on Learning and Curriculum Changes Teaching: Successes and Misconceptions |
Influenced by learning theories such as constructivism and situated cognition, we have shifted from a focus on teaching behaviors to how students learn and engage with our subject matter. New curricular models have broadened our conceptions of curriculum. In this keynote, I will discuss the successes as we shifted from teacher-centered to learner-centered perspectives and some of the misconceptions that developed along the way. |
