Dance and Culture: Enhance Your Curriculum |
This session offers lessons about incorporating multiculturalism into the classroom to broaden the curriculum, and to introduce standards-based material found in the NDA publication, "Dance and Culture: an Introductory Reader" (textbook designed for high school level). Emphasis will be placed on participatory exercise involving Micronesian dance. Also to be examined, problems inherent in teaching dance from cultures other than one’s own. Presented by the editors.
