LIFT: Promoting the Benefits of Resistance Training for Elders |
Despite the known benefits of resistance training, only 10% of older women participate in these activities. To address this issue, LIFT, a 6-month training program for older women, was developed and implemented. This session will discuss the core components of LIFT, including community based activity, individualized exercise, and frequent assessment to monitor progress. Participants will receive valuable information regarding the benefits of resistance training for older people and how to implement community programs. |
