Exploring Racial/Ethnic Polarization in Sport & Physical Activity Behaviors/ Intentions |
Specifically, there are concerns regarding varied cultures identification with specific sports, and physical activities, which carry racial labels ( Harrison, Azzarito, & Burden, 2004; Burden, Hodge, & Harrison, 2004). Therefore, this session will stimulate dialogue regarding racial norms and perpetuated stereotypes, which create diffusion in terms of sport and physical activity behaviors/intentions. Hopefully, this dialogue will improve programming to facilitate ethnic groups’ behaviors/intentions in a wider variety of a sports & physical activities. |
