Interactive Panel: Eating Disorder Prevention in School and Community Settings |
This applied and interactive panel discussion will focus on how to promote positive body image and prevent eating disorders with consideration to age, race/ethnicity, social class, disabilities and sexual orientation both in school and community settings. Experts will show how to culturally tailor prevention approaches to diverse groups in order to avoid "isms" (e.g., homonegativism) that may occur related to body shape, size and weight and to empower others to accept their bodies and themselves. |
Keyword(s): disease prevention/wellness, gender issues, multiculturalism/cultural diversity
