Commercial Presentation: Konami: West Virginia Games for Health – Implementing Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) Statewide
This session will describe the evolution of a statewide project to include interactive video technology into physical education classes and after school activities. The WV Games for Health Project was initiated in 2004 as a clinical research study using DDR for overweight children, ages 7-12 years, who also had documented abnormal artery function. Based on the positive results of the pilot project, a state wide DDR project is planned to provide increased opportunities for physical activity for both students and school staff. With the development of school DDR clubs and competitions, specific outcomes will be evaluated.
