Fitness and Sports - Putting a Fitness Focus into Your Sport Education Program |
Can you teach sports and fitness at the same time? Do your learners see the connection between your sport education program and fitness? Physical education may be the most effective way to promote life-long active lifestyles. Although there is a growing emphasis on individual fitness within physical education, the focus of many classes is team sports. This session has two parts: First, a discussion of the Sport Education and Fitness Education models showing how to combine and implement these two concepts into units. Second, practitioners will be able to participate in new fun fitness activities for a variety of sports. |
