NASPE Sets the Standard for Sport Coaches |
The National Standards for Sport Coaches (NASPE, 2006) provides direciton for sport administrators, coaches, and the public regarding the skill and knowledge that coaches should posses. It is imperative that coaches aspire to and achieve high standards and have resources available to assist them in gaining necessary skills and knowledge. The National Council for Accreditation of Coaching Education (NCACE) evaluates education programs to ensure that coaching candidates learn the appropriate skills to properly coach teams. This session will provide an outline of what coaches should know, value, and be able to do to ensure a safe learning environment for participants. |
