Evidence-based Practice: Stretching during the Warm-up? |
Evidence-based practice is making decisions about training, diet, and use of supplements based on evidence from research rather than from anecdotal reports or intuition. Most athletes and coaches believe that stretching is a vital part of the warm-up prior to a work-out or competition. Stretching is thought to help prevent injuries and improve performance. But are these beliefs supported by the extensive research on stretching? In this session discover what has been learned about stretching, and how to translate from research to real-world practice. |
