Perceptions of both men and women in intercollegiate coaching at the Division I level were examined through a qualitative/quantitative approach. Coaches insights regarding what constitutes sexual misconduct, repercussions that result from inappropriate conduct, and strategies to protect athletes and coaches from misconduct are just some of the issues to be addressed. A critical examination of the ideologies concerning sexual orientation and it's role in sexual misconduct will also be discussed. Finally, how can educators and coaches apply this information in their own setting to facilitate a better understanding of the issues surrounding sexual misconduct. |
