Shape Up (or Ship Out): The Making of a Senior Athlete |
Co-sponsor: Council for Lifelong Recreational Sports
As a health and fitness professional, what will you do when Baby Boomers start asking you to help them stay fit for a lifetime? Will you be able to help older adults safely and effectively “shape up” their aging bodies so they won’t “ship out?” Come learn how to develop strength, balance, agility, and mental and emotional skills needed to safely and effectively participate in lifelong physical activity and sport. Presenters are a 65-year-old woman who, with no previous athletic/competitive experience, decided to participate in the 2006 Senior Games and her personal trainer. |
Keyword(s): adult physical activity/fitness, aging/older adult issues, exercise/fitness/physical activity
