Promoting Bicycling in Your Community
Tired of $3 per gallon gasoline prices? Looking for family friendly ways to keep fit and have fun? Seeking ways to improve environmental quality? Promoting bicycling may be the answer! While some cities are “bicycle friendly”, many others feel like “enemy territory” to people who want to cycle. This session will provide information for increasing participation in the activity of bicycling. Specifically it will address: The benefits of cycling (health, environmental, and financial), techniques for developing better bicycle routes, strategies for encouraging workers to commute by bicycle, bicycle education programs, cycling related grants, and ideas for special events.
