Paddling Safety Workshop (Canoeing & Kayaking)
Council Co-sponsors: Lifelong Recreational Sports, Aquatic Professionals The American Canoeing Association and AAPAR have partnered to develop a curriculum and certification program in paddling sports (canoeing and kayaking). The curriculum can be taught in a gymnasium, a pool, or open water. The knowledge and skills focus on safe paddling on flat water (calm lakes and rivers). It is designed for physical education teachers, recreation leaders, aquatic personnel, camp counselors, and others who would like to include paddling sports in their program. Persons successfully completing the course will be certified they have demonstrated the knowledge and skills to teach the curriculum.
