From the Classroom to the Board Room: Active Learning in Sport Management |
This session will explore how to use a group project to move students beyond knowledge and comprehension, to application and synthesis. The presentation focuses upon a group project undertaken by sport management students at the University of Indianapolis to create a wellness program for an international company. Beginning with the introduction of the project and concluding with a presentation in the board room of the company, the discussion illustrates how to weave course concepts into the project, provide real opportunities for students to apply course concepts and provide opportunities for the instructor to model course concepts. |
