| A History of Women in Sport through Art |
| This program will present both a history of women in sport and a history of art as depicted by images of female athletes. Images range from drawings of female athletes in the Ancient Olympics, to Victorian women golfers, to the unforgettable photograph of Brandi Chastain in her sports bra as she celebrated the 1991 World Cup win. Discussion will focus on how the images represent societies’ attitude toward the role of women in sport and how art can be an agent for change. |
