Facilitating, Increasing, and Improving Media Coverage for Interscholastic Athletics
The goal of this workshop is to provide techniques for high school athletic directors and coaches who want to make the sport media work for their programs. This session will begin with an examination of the importance and value of media coverage and the symbiotic relationship between media and sport. The workshop will also involve an analysis of how the media operate and editorial decisions are made. The session will then provide step-by-step outlines that illustrate procedures for enhancing interviewing skills, approaches to handling crisis communication, and strategies for securing increased and improved publicity.
