Parent/Educator Responsibilities in Changing Behavior to Combat Childhood Obesity
This Powerpoint presentation will discuss specifically where the problem of childhood obesity begins and specifically where it escalates, and at each point how parental and teacher intervention can assist in helping young people modify their behavior to prevent or reduce the incidence of overweight and obesity in children and young people. The presenter served on the planning committee of the First Alabama Governor's Conference on Childhood Obesity and was a speaker at that conference. Information from that conference will be shared. Statistics and research data will be provided to support the presentation, with recommendations provided to implement behavior modification.
