Design Lessons Learned - Designing and Building West Point's New Arvin Cadet Physical Development Center
This session is designed for any physical educator, administrator, coach, or recreation director planning to build or renovate an athletic facility. The United States Military Academy at West Point opened the new $100 million Arvin Cadet Physical Development Center in 2005. The Department of Physical Education was involved with all aspects of planning, designing, building, funding, and promoting this huge project and will share their “Lessons Learned”, both good and bad. Come and benchmark off what they did well and avoid mistakes they made. The presentation will include discussion, photos of the new building, and a question and answer period.
